Downtown Devil Expo (Activity 1)

The Downtown Devil Expo...

I found out about this activity via the word document on the passport section on blackboard and also due to the bombardment of posters and signs scattered across the downtown campus. Before deciding I wanted to attend this activity I looked it up online and read what it was about...it looked like it would be pretty interesting and fun to say the least.

Sadly, I was kind of let down by this activity :( I thought there would be some really cool clubs and school organizations there. Some of the out of school organization there were interesting. One outdoor organization in particular stood out, because I love the outdoors and nature. I'm sure I'll be looking more into this exciting outdoor organization! However, the school clubs and organizations were kind of a let down. I thought there would be a wider variety but there wasn't. It was basically a bunch of sororitys and organizations like student government, and things dealing with certain majors (*note* no clubs dealing with criminal justice). I talked to a few sororitys but I didn't talk to all of them because they all kind of looked like I wouldn't fit in. One table had their reresentatives dressed in what can only be described their finest "club clothing."

Granted I did learn a few things from this activity. I learned that my major (Criminal Justice) isn't as represented on campus I would like. I learned about a cool and adventurous outdoor club that will probablly present many fun experiences with nature. And I also got a free frisbee from the ASU Republican club, and have enjoyed watching my two puppies chase around the house after it! I've also had to climb up on my house and get it off the roof cause someone threw it up there.

All in all I felt the Downtown Devil Expo wasn't what the website and posters made it out to be. But I did learn a few things about a handful of organizations and came away with a new toy for my dogs. So I guess it was an average afternoon. I'm looking to the next activity that I embark on.
